2015 KENTUCKY WRITERS DAY CELEBRATION
APRIL 24 ~ MAY 24
An event beginning the last weekend of
April and ending the last of May during MEMORIAL weekend in
conjunction with the State of Kentucky's Official KENTUCKY WRITERS
DAY of April 24. Each year since 1997 Historic Penn's Store
celebrates the event by honoring the unbridled spirit of the
written word and Kentucky writers by preserving,
promoting,encouraging the "written word" .

C L O S I N G of 2015 Kentucky Writers Celebration
Participants giving a "voice " to the words written( letters,
poems, writings, songs) by deceased friends and/or family
members. What better time and way to honor deceased loved ones
than give their writings a "voice" in the here and now. They
may be gone, but their words are still with us.
Participants are encouraged to bring photos of those whose
writings they are honoring, as well as copies of any of their
books, articles, or letters. Participants are welcome to set
up a display of their loved ones photo, writings, memorabilia.
NOTE: Anyone wishing to
participate in "VOICES for the PAST",
contact Jeanne Penn Lane at the Penn's
Store ~ contact info above.

*Food will be available at Penn's Store.
(Those with special food needs are welcome to bring their own.)
* Books for sale.
* Plants will be available for purchase.
NOTE: As in the past, cards will
be given to the public for writing a note to a veteran.
Cards will be collected and delivered to the VA Hospital in
Lexington for distribution to the veterans.
