Penn's Privy was built in 1992. It is made of poplar and has a tin roof. It is a "one-holer". It was built and designed by Bill Trammel and donated to the store by Tarter Gate Co. of Dunnville, Kentucky.

This little building sees to the needs of scores of visitors to Penn's Store every year.  It is the first, and only, restroom facilities the store has ever had. We thought that was a cause for a celebration. So the first Great Outhouse Blowout was held in 1992 to dedicate the new addition.

Since that first Blowout, Penn's Store has "collected" several outhouse-related items. Some can be purchased through our catalog.
