CHICKIE BARE BUTT GOES TO TOWN

 

Dawn's 2 old resident hens ( Rhode Island Reds ) are named CLUCKIE & CHICKIE  ... Chickie is now called "CHICKIE BARE BUTT" ... as a varmint came into hen house one night 2 weeks ago and pulled out all her tail feathers ... but ONE!   Evidently they had quite a battle and it tried to kill her.  ( A opossum was caught the following night ... although I am not sure it was the opossum.)   Where's Turtleman when you need him!!!        Anyway ..... After this happened ... she and Cluckie would roost UNDERNEATH Tommy's new truck!  Crawl up into framing and roost.  He'd have to get them out every day before leaving.  Even left his truck near gate at highway ... and they found it and crawled up in it. 

 

Last night .... Dawn called and said Chickie was not there when she went to close them up for night ... and she believed Chickie must have crawled up under Tommy's truck again ... and Tommy had headed to Lebanon.  So she called & left phone message for Tommy to check under his truck ... as soon as he got a signal, he got message ... pulled into a homeowners drive almost in Lebanon, got out and checked .... SURE ENOUGH!  There was Chickie roosting under his truck!!!!!!!!  She had ridden all that way from here to almost Lebanon ( around 15 miles ) underneath his truck!!!   He got her out and then had to chase her around his truck to try to catch her!   Said if someone was passing he knew they would think he was crazy!!!    Dawn and Olivia met Tommy on road between here & Lebanon ... retrieved Chickie ... and returned home.  Olivia held her in her lap all the way.  Dawn said she thought Chickie was "depressed" she had to come back home ... was looking for an exciting night in Lebanon I guess!  LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!  

 

Dawn's got to get a Rooster!!!
